Junior Club Duathlon – Stourport Cycle Track Saturday 11th May 2013

Written by ClareM on May 10, 2013 – 9:50 pm -

We have had a few queries regarding the club race tomorrow, so just in case you didn’t receive the email from Karen, please follow this link - BCT Club Duathlon 11 May 2013 for details of the race.

It is a 1pm start at Stourport cycle track and we should be done by 3pm – please arrive in plenty of time to register and be ready for a prompt start at 1pm.  As it is a Duathlon it will follow the format run-bike-run so you will need both cycling and running kit; helmets essential.  Please ensure bikes are in good working order and check tyre pressure before hand.  It is also advisable to ensure your child’s seat is the right height, let me know if you need any guidance with this.

Due to the late finish there will be no junior swimming session tomorrow at Wombourne.

It appears a few people may not have received the original email as you have not renewed your membership online at  You do need to be club members before racing so it would be helpful if you could sort this tomorrow morning if possible.  Thanks.

Any problems give me a shout.

Too high chlorine levels has forced the pool to close, so no swimming session tonight.  The pool has been closed since last night, but they are apparently pumping fresh water in to dilute so at this stage there is no reason to expect any impact to Saturday.  If we are aware of any problems, will let you know asap.

Due to the significant snow fall overnight, we have decided to cancel the junior training session this morning.  Hopefully we will be back to normal next week.

Unfortunately we will need to change the planned bike session tomorrow to a RUN session at Wombourne, 10.00am, due to the current and forecast weather conditions.

Please wrap up warm – It is always easier to shed layers once we start running!

I am just in the process of finalising the training programme for April onwards so fingers crossed for some sunnier weather and plenty of opportunities to improve our bike fitness.

BCT memorial ride has been cancelled

Written by clswood on March 22, 2013 – 9:56 am -

BCT memorial ride on Sunday is cancelled.

Even if the snow and ice are gone, the condition of the lanes is dreadful at the moment (loads of pot-holes, gravel, mud, etc.)

Hopefully we’ll reschedule when conditions improve – please pass on this message.
